Düzce is located on the plateau on the west coast of the Black Sea.
It borders Sakarya to the west, Zonguldak to the northeast, and Bolu to the east.
The city opens onto the Black Sea and stretches over 23 km of territory from east to west, and 20 km from north to south.
There are many cultural exchanges between the two cities.
The city has been twinned with Alba Iulia since 2001.
