Edinet Municipality is the center of one of the 32 administrative districts of the Republic of Moldova. It is located in the northern part of the country. The distance to the capital of the Republic of Moldova is 201 km. The Edinet City Hall includes three localities: the city of Edinet, the village of Alexandreni and the village of Gordineștii Noi. Alba Iulia and Edinet are developing projects with European funding and are developing cultural projects. The signed agreement comes in the context of Romania's commitment to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with the Strategic Partnership for the European Integration of the Republic of Moldova. The two cities have been twinned since 2024.
